 A girl who LOVES her new doll!Oct 26, 2012
I got the Flora doll for my 10th birthday last week. I was REALLY hoping I would get her!!!!! She's really pretty, has wavy hair that you can braid, and I like that her wings flutter when you make her fly. The wings snap on and off too, so it makes it easier to do her hair if you want to. I also like that her arms, legs, and wrists all bend so you can pose her. The only thing kind of not so good about the Winx dolls is they have really long skinny legs and short skirts with spiky shoes. My mom let me get one anyway and I am SO HAPPY even though I know it's not how most real ladies look. (This is the 10-year-old's mom: I do object to the short skirt/leggy with heels look for little girls, but used it as a chance to talk about what her dad and I deem appropriate vs. inappropriate for clothing, and why....probably not every mom -- and/or dad -- will have a problem with it, but since my daughter put something in her review I thought I should clarify)! :-) They are very pretty and well-made, and great for fantasy play. She's thrilled with it, so thumbs up from this mom!

Pieces fall off, even during gentle handling.
I have watched the animated series associated with these dolls - one of the key messages conveyed by the animations is importance of protecting the environment. The packaging method used on this doll was just plain overdoen, and a hazard to the environment.

It did arrive on time and was in good condition. After 5 minutes of being played with by my 9-year old, the hand fell off!!! Not the seller's fault. Most likely a craftsmenship problem. They are certainly making toys more expensive for the consumer and cheap for the manufacturer.

I know nothing of the Winx craze among little girls. This doll was a gift for a fifth birthday. The recipient loved it.

My niece asked Santa for Winx Dolls this year. Little did she know, my husband and I had already bought her three favorite Winx. She loved them and hasn't stopped playing with them since. Very well made too! I would have loved playing with these as a little girl!
