Great Doll - A Bit RarerAug 24, 2012
We have both the European (Simba Toys) and this US version (Jakks Pacific) and the difference in quality is remarkable. The US version is fully articulated, better and fluffier hair, and sturdy fluttering wings with intricate designs painted on them. Note that Musa and Tecna tend to be the hardest to find since they seem to be made in fewer numbers.
The wrists, arms, and knees are articular so she can be posed in many ways. Her wings can be removed for storage or left on - they are made so that they also flutter naturally, which is a big plus. That is in comparison to the European version, which just attaches with velcro and are thin and cheap.
Tecna comes with her Winx transformation outfit, tall socks, and shoes. Her hair has her trademark trendy sideswept pageboy.
In all, VERY impressed with this doll - well worth the money!

more availabilityFeb 21, 2013
We paid 19.99 for all of the wingx faries. Why is Tecna so much more? When you make a product, you need to make enough to meet the demand. $20 to 30 dollars more for this particular doll does not seem fair. Little girls want all of the dolls so we parents and grandparents will spend the money but it does not make it right. Get some more tecna dolls to target and Walmart! OK!
Resigned to Winx club obessive childrenMar 13, 2013
My title says it all. They love Winx club. I could really do without it, so I was unenthused that one of my daughers insisted that Tecna was her favorite and could she have a doll, please? Well, after some research I found that there was a lot of versions of Winx out there but many of them were completely unavailable: European productions or limited editions for conventions, etc. Soon I realized that most Winx club dolls (besides Bloom and Flora and Stella) are underproduced (my opinion) and then snatched up by collectors to hoard and ebayers to sell for twice the original price. Worse, these dolls aren't particularly sturdy. I read reviews that said the wings tore, or the hair wasn't made to be combed without frizzing, etc. Having bought one I can also note that the points of articulation are very thin, making me think that they'll lose a leg or hand easily in the future.
This doll is cute. It looks like the Tecna in the TV series, which is the vital thing. Since they're out of stock at standard prices everywhere in the retail world you just have to bite the bullet and pay for it while it's available. I think the vital thing here is that your child is old enough to understand how to be gentler with their toys. This toy is noted as being for 4 years and up. I would definitely think twice about spending this money and giving it to someone younger than that.
Apparently hard to find in storesFeb 01, 2013
Probably the best toy buy I've made this year, Definately a score. My youngest was heartbroken she could not find this one in stores to fill out her collection.
When she came home to find it waiting for her, she burst into tears.
And As much As I hate to make my daughter cry, It was a hella nice Daddy moment.
