3unmet expectations  Aug 20, 2010
I am a big sci-fi fan so I was really looking forward to watching the "Robot Rampage" special, maybe even more than my daughter (age 5). Unfortunately it didn't really meet my expectations. The music is great, but the story ends very abruptly and the characters other than Austin and Pablo are one-dimensional. This was a big contrast to the other specials "Super Spy" and "Mighty Knights" where each of the Backyardigans has a distinct role. I realize this is a kids show, but I really value well-done shows as they are my daughter's introduction to theater and literature, and obviously it helps me enjoy them more as well. One other thing, while it is still appropriate for preschoolers, this episode is darker than most Backyardigans. Pablo as Professor Bug sends a robot army out against the other characters, while in most episodes the conflict of the story is usually a competition.

5Five Stars for Robot Repairman  Aug 04, 2010
My children five and four years old love this episode. It is fun and the music is great. What I love about the Backyardigans is that the singing is good and not obnoxious. The Roller Disco theme is cute and the story is fun. If you have a Backyardigans fan in your home this will be one of their favorites.

5The best episode in a great series  Aug 01, 2010
Robot Rampage is the best episode to date in this outstanding children's television series. Each episode features top notch music from a different musical genre (roller disco for Robot Rampage), great synchronized dancing, adventurous story lines and well developed characters. After several viewings of the double length episode, Robot Rampage will stick in your head - in a good way! My son and I love it.

5Robot Repairman/Robot Rampage  Jul 26, 2010
My 3 year old grandson LOVES this dvd. He watches it over and over and over and, well, you get the idea.
For the past couple of months he has been a robot - telling everyone "all systems A-ok". Professor Bug is the bad guy who reforms at the end, so a lesson can be given. He sings a song "I get everything I want", which can also be a sometime discussion point.
Well worth the money - sometimes I even get to read a book while he watches!

5My 3yr old is hooked on this episode  Jun 03, 2010
We have this movie recorded on our DVR and my 3yr old plays it approximately 5x/day. I go to work with the songs stuck in my head! It drives me crazy but she loves it so much. We're going to be moving soon, so I'm going to have to buy it now.
