5Awesome toy BUT!Aug 19, 2013
By Heather
I bought this for my 5 year old son and he loves it! You are able to put the swords or ninja thingys in the back. The only thing I MUST mention is that the price of this toy is only $14.99 at Wal-Mart and Amazon is charging $41?!?! That is a rip!! If you paid that much for this toy you will be mad!

5Won't fit most adults, but a fun toy for kidsAug 12, 2013
By Miles A.
This is a fun product and a neat idea. As a 31 year old lifelong TMNT fan (who is 6'1", 200 lbs), I had high hopes that I could use this for a costume for myself for Halloween this year. They never released a product like this before, so I was really pumped when I first saw it. But, sadly, the shell is just too small for a grown man. I didn't have my wife try it on, but I think it would look OK on a small woman. The arm straps and waist belt are also too small, but if you got creative, you could add additional pieces of fabric to make it fit a larger person. I put the Raphael sai in the weapons slots, and they held OK, but not as firmly as I expected. There is a spring loaded flap in each weapon slot holding it in place. I am still going to keep it, hoping a nephew, niece, or my future children will enjoy it as much as I would have at that age.

By Natalie Crawford
My 4 year old loves this turtle shell. We purchased it along with the "Raphael combat gear" that has two small swords/daggers. The only problem with this shell is that when the daggers are in the two slots, he can't reach them while wearing it. It is rather amusing to watch him turn around in circles to try to reach it, but then he dissolves into tears and I have to help him get it. We've found if we don't shove them down all the way, he can kind of reach over his shoulders to get them. Still a nice shell and I like how it Velcros around the front. I think as he grows, he will be able to reach the daggers easier.

5Great shell for Halloween or role playOct 17, 2013
By shopaholic mom
My son wanted to be a ninja turtle this year so he picked this shell (and the matching mask sold separately). The shell is molded out of very sturdy plastic. I will say this shell is small. It works great for my son (he is 7 and on the small side) but I don't think it would work for an older or larger child. I was actually considering tryig use one of these for a costume as well since we like to dress up in family costumes, but there is no way it work and I am only 5 feet tall!! The shell has brown adjustable backpack style straps at the top, and one brown strap that goes around the waist that closes with Velcro. The waist strap is too big for my son so I will have to do some adjusting on that to cut it down or add a longer strip of Velcro. I think it would have worked better with a slide style system like straps at the top. The shell itself is green plastic with a brown plastic strip across the lower back of the shell. This has two holes where you can store your weapons. It is basically a spring system that holds the weapon in place. My son is going as Michelangelo and the nunchucks we bought (again sold separately) fit in there perfectly and are held quite securely with the spring. I do not know how well the other turtles weapons would work in there. It seems like Leos flat kitanas or Raph's sais would flop around. I think Donnie's bo, since it is much like the round shape of Mikey's nunchucks, would do fine. Overall, I think this is a very clever idea. It is well made, sturdy, and well worth the $15 I paid for it. I am sure that this will last well after Halloween and find its way into my sons regular rotation of turtle toy fun!!
